Diving deep into the mysteries of the new Guy Ritchie directed show, The Gentlemen, Season 1, Episode 1: Refined Aggression. Recap.

The first scene of the first episode in the series, titled Refined Aggression, introduces the main character, Edward Horniman. Who works as a border patrol agent for the UN. Ahmed, who works for Edward's father, approaches him later in the first scene of the episode. We then cut to a private conversation between Ahmed and Edward, where Ahmed informs Edward that his father's health is rapidly declining and asks him to go home before it's too late.
We are then shown an interesting montage of Edward driving back to the family manor. We are later introduced to Freddy, Edward's older brother, his mother, Lady Sabrina, and his sister, who was casually referred to as Chuckles. We then transition to a private conversation with Edward and his sick father, where his father tells Edward to manage the family estate and manor and care for his troublesome brother Freddy.
And, after the passing of his father, Edward did inherit everything, including the title, the vast lands, and the estate. Naturally making Freddy, the first son, unhappy. who was in debt and owed 8 million British pounds to a Scottish crime family. Which, if not paid in time, could cost him his life. He thus settled an agreement with Edward to help him repay his debt. In this scene, we also get introduced to a man called Tommy Dixon, the man to whom Freddy has to pay 8 million pounds, through a flashback while Freddy was explaining his situation to his brother, Edward.
Putting Edward in a tough spot and forcing him to save his brother. Even though Edward inherited his father's wealth, he isn't as rich as someone might think. He is asset rich and cash poor. Which unfortunately led him to consider selling the Halstead manor.
And during this turmoil, we are introduced to a mysterious woman called Susie Glass, who appears to have had a deep history of business dealings with Edward's father. And this is when Susie reveals to Edward that his father was making five million pounds a year through the family farm by allowing people to run an underground illeagal canabis operation. When Susie revealed this to Edward, he immediately started to reconsider his decision about selling his family estate in exchange for her help in his brother's situation. And Susie agrees.
The next scene takes place in the fish market. Here, we are officially introduced to Tommy Dixon. In this scene, we also witness the negotiation between Susan and Tommy. And at the end of their negotiations, they decide and come to the conclusion that by the end of the week, Tommy will receive 4 million pounds in cash, 1 million worth of cannabis, and an apology video from Freddy, dressed up as a chicken.
Simultaneously, in the next scene, we are introduced to a mysterious yet captivating character. Mr. Stanley Johnston is a unique individual interested in buying the Halstead manor after Edward put it up for sale. However, Edward declined his offer for the house, as he didn't want to sell the manor anymore. However, they did come to a conclusion, and at the end, Edward sold his father's wine collection to Mr. Johnston for 3 million pounds. And that's the story of how Edward managed to gather the 3 million pounds needed to repay Freddy's debt. Unfortunately, in the next scene, we find out that Freedy stole all of Edward's money in hopes of doubling it in an illegal fight, becomes a victim of a scam, and loses all the money. And again, Susie comes to the rescue. Recovering the money Freedy lost and handing it back to Edward.
Then in the last scene of the episode, we see Tommy Dixon again, with a new character called Jethro driving toward the family manor to receive his money and his apology video from Freddy. After arriving at the house, we see Suzan escorting them inside the manor. When they enter the living room, Edward and Freedy greet Tommy and give him the 4 million pounds as promised. Then Tommy asks Jethro to count the money and tells Freddy to get ready to shoot the apology video. However, while filming the apology video, things escalated, and Freddy ended up killing Tommy.
